October 21, 2004
On May 2, 2004., moms  from St. Patrick School helped organize a bone marrow
drive in honor of Thomas (see previous journal entry). At that time,
approximately 600 caring individuals throughout our community agreed to
become a registered donor in the
National Marrow Donor Program Registry.

All it took that day,  was the completion of a short questionairre, and a small
blood sample  - THAT's IT.

Our family learned yesterday that one of the 600 bone marrow registrants was
recently called upon to undergo further testing for a potential donor match for a 4
year old boy. There are many times during our lives where we wish we could
make a difference in this world, and through Thomas, we became aware of the
following life saving acts of kindness:
1.
GIVE BLOOD - Blood transfusions are imperative to the survival of a cancer
patient.

2. If you have not done so already, GET REGISTERED on the
National Marrow
Donor Program Registry.

3. Last, donate to The Thomas Peterpaul Foundation. It's charter is to raise
funds for pediatric cancer research and make donations directly to needy
patients and their families.

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
