Thomas Peterpaul
September 17, 1992 - September 11, 2004
Thomas Peterpaul was a positive spirit to everyone he touched.  He was an exceptional student, Cub Scout, avid sports
enthusiast, and admired by friends and classmates at St. Patrick School in Chatham New Jersey.   He was loved by his
family -brothers, Robert and William, sister, Julia, and parents, Barbara and Frank- and was truly a special child.  On
February 24, 2003, Thomas was diagnosed with ALL type leukemia.  Unfortunately, his journey to a cure was marred
with obstacles - countless bone marrow and spinal taps, numerous blood transfusions, blindness in one eye, radiation
& chemotherapy side effects - to name a few.  Just when everyone thought his disease was in check, Thomas suffered a
relapse in February 2004.  This forced him to endure another round of intensive chemotherapy and radiation, followed by
a stem cell transplant on July 23, 2004.  Thomas remained positive throughout his ordeal and encouraged many of the
patients and families around him.  His trademark smile was like a ray of sunshine to everyone he met and
demonstrated to all that Thomas truly had a courageous spirit.

Thomas passed away on September 11, 2004 at 9:11pm, just six days short of his 12th birthday.  He
experienced so many obstacles during his battle with cancer but faced each and every one
with a positive spirit. He was truly a courageous young man and is an inspiration and hero to all.
Unfortunately it takes more than just courage, bravery, and the will to live to fight this horrible
disease.  It is for this reason that Thomas' spirit be kept alive - to find a cure and win the battle
against pediatric cancer.

We will always miss our amazing Thomas......mom's sunshine and Dad's buddy......we love and
miss you so very much.  Sweet dreams until we meet again.
